LOOKING AHEAD IN 2017

The Shuswap Rowing & Paddling Club is already excited about the 2017 season for the Rowing Program!  Our first few seasons have been very successful and we are looking forward to further improvements to our equipment and program offerings.  Registration forms for both the LTR (Learn to Row) and the recreational programs are expected to be available early spring. Rowing will take place at Canoe Beach.

Two main rowing programs are offered:

  • the Learn to Row Program is designed for people who have little or no previous rowing experience. Click the ‘Learn to Row’ tab for more info.
  • the Recreational Rowing Program is intended for those with at least some previous rowing experience. Click the ‘Receational Rowing’ tab for more info.

The Club purchased a new Hudson double and a new Hudson touring quad and several BC Rowing Clubs have generously donated equipment to help get the boat house started. We thank the following clubs for their donations:

  • Nicomekl – Donated a 4x
  • Brentwood – Donated a 4-
  • Vernon Rowing Club – Donated sweep oars

We also thank Rowing BC and Rowing Canada Aviron for their assistance and input in setting up the program and in training coaches. In particular Martin George and Chuck McDirmiad (both of Rowing BC) have been a great help with program preparations.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at rowingdirector@gmail.com We look forward to seeing you on the water!
